big ole belleh...

So, my tummy is getting bigger, right?

I had my 24 week appointment yesterday. It went good and bad. Mostly good though. I passed my GTT--glucose tolerence test. Failing is when your blood sugar is at 140. Mine was at 139, so I just barely passed. My Dr. told me to watch my sugar intake because the nasty sugary drink you have to drink for the test made me sick--headache, fatigue, etc. She also said to watch my salt intake because of my feet swelling. She said the only thing that would help that is to drink plenty of water and to limit salt as much as I can. My iron was low so Im on iron supplements....at least until Baby Diffee arrives. My Dr. warned me that Im going to have a "very miserable summer". She said the feet swelling will just get worse with the heat. So excited about that. Ive never dealt with things like this....swollen feet, leg cramps, back aches. These are all new to me. Im also the "heaviest" Ive ever been in my entire life. It is very strange to look at the scale and see a number Ive never seen before. I was assured that my weight gain is in the healthy range and all that, but it still feels strange.

Anyway. We hung the curtains in the nursery...they look super cute and Im excited that things are starting to get "ready".

I added a picture of Toonces and Nacho because I have neglected them in this blog so far. They are our first babies and they are great pets!

Isn't that drink so great?? Yeah right!! Glad that everything went well. The summer in AL being preggers is okay. Just remember to go swimming a lot and A/C is a must. You will be fine.

I am so excited to get working on your quilt! I got all the stuff cut, so now I just need to sew it all together!

You are getting there!! It will start to speed up when you start going every 3 weeks, then every 2, and then every 1.

so the day before i read this i had this dream about you coming over. you walked in the door and you were just HUGE. we were all like WHOA! and then you pulled this HUGE balloon out from under your shirt-ha!
(the boys had been blowing up balloons all day that day-so i'm sure that had something to do with it :)
anyway, you look super-cute with your big belly!
i think your doctor is a just plain rude for giving you the bad news of the summer you have ahead of you-BUT now that you know, i'll have to say from experience(elliot is a late august baby) she AINT lying!!

be sure to wear good shoes. i went around wearing flip-flops for the last several months because my toes were so swollen, but my feet paid for it later.
