24 weeks sounds so.....FAR! I can't believe Im already 24 weeks along. It really is amazing how fast this is going by. It is starting to feel very "real" at our house. My mom and step-dad came this weekend...they brought along lots of clothes for the baby, a dresser for the nursery, blankets and toys. On Saturday my mom and I went baby shopping and got more things we would be needing...
burp rags, socks, onesies. There is still a lot we have to get, but it
certainly made things feel a lot more.....official.
I have learned that long shopping trips and a 5 1/2 month along pregnant woman do NOT mix. When we got home, my feet were so swollen, and my toes looked like sausages. Even Nathan noticed without me saying anything. Ive spent the past 2 days trying to prop them up, but they are still sore. Ive never dealt with swollen
feet before, so that has been very interesting. Ive also still not recovered from the long weekend. I feel so tired still, even though I got a good night of sleep last night.
On Sunday, Sparky (step-dad) helped us put together our stroller system and our high chair. They are both super cute with a circus animal pattern. We got them before we knew the sex of the baby so they pattern is pretty neutral. The high chair was actually pretty complicated to put together. You can tell just by walking into our house that a baby is coming though...there are actual "supplies" around the house...the kitchen has a high chair in it..and the guest room is starting to LOOK like a baby belongs there.
Later that day, my brother and his wife Julie came, and brought their kids..Lochlan and Natalie. We cooked and had lunch..it was a lot of fun to see the kids running around. Natalie brought along a doll and lots of pink doll things...at one point they were all over our sofa and I told Nathan "Are you ready? This is our future." Lochlan is at the very curious stage and everything is a guestion..."Where are the cats?" "Are the cats sleeping?" Why are the cats sleeping?" "Why is there a baby in your tummy?" "Why are you sitting on the floor?" "Does your house come with cartoons?" Etc. etc.
All in all it was a great weekend---long and tiring, but great. No belly picture today because Im far too lazy to do it. Sorrrry :)
