Amelia is getting SOOOOO BIG. She is (as of Wednesday) 10 lbs 2 oz. She is growing so fast. They said that is awesome for a breastfed baby, that they would have been happy if she had been around 8 lbs. She loooooves to eat though. I bet she would nurse every half hour if I let her. Its so funny because just a few weeks ago I seriously thought about giving up on breastfeeding. It seemed impossible at the time, but now we are old pro's at it. She has nursed in the parking deck at the hospital, the bathroom at my job, and at my grandmothers house. Im getting a lot more comfortable with it and Im glad that I stuck with it.
At six weeks, Amelia is starting to show a lot more personality. She smiles a lot, even if it isn't "at us" or on purpose. I try to catch them with the camera sometimes but its hard. She is still not sleeping good at night, that is our main problem. She will sleep around 3 hours, and thats my good block for the night, I try to sleep then as well. After that she normally wakes up every 30 minutes-hour and a half. So after my 3 hour block I may only get 30 minutes of sleep at a time. Sometimes she just needs a diaper change and then goes back to sleep. At other times she will have bad gas (poor thing) and it wakes her up for over an hour at a time. We are still working at it ---she spent her first night in her crib last night. Of course I slept in the bed in there, I wasn't ready to stray too far yet.
Amelia has a lot of likes and dislikes already....LIKES:
Her Bee toy that Grandma Lisa gave her (it plays music---she loves music!)
Looking at faces
Her boppy pillow
Sleeping on her stomach (big no-no, but I let her do it for naps if Im in the room)
Pooping and Peeing (ha!)
Eating
DISLIKES:Bath-time (she likes the bath, but she hates getting dried off)
When Mom eats broccoli (HUGE mistake, we paid for that for days)
Getting her diaper changed
Waking Up (she stays grumpy after waking up for at least half an hour)
Going To Sleep (she fights it!)
In other news---her face is clearing up. She had a really bad case of baby acne. It is still on her chest, shoulders and back--but her face is better. Now she has cradle cap--I think its because she has SO much hair. It is still very thick and dark. The roots seem to be getting lighter though, so she could be going blonde like I predicted. We shall see!!
I go to the Doctor tomorrow for my 6 week checkup. Hopefully everything will go okay. Im still feeling pretty crummy, from lack of sleep. I hope that gets better soon!!

she is such a cutie pie! I can't believe it has been 6 weeks since you had her! Time is sure flying by!!!! She is simply darling! Im glad to hear all is going well and breast feeding is going well, I knew it would get better :)
She is so cute!! I can't believe it has been 6 weeks already! How the time flies in the fall. Before we know it it will be her first christmas! Glad that BF is going awesome!!! I am so excited that you stuck with it! I'll give you all call this weekend and see how things are going.
