Poor Amelia!

Well Amelia is 8 weeks old now and all you moms know what that means!

SHOTS! She got her first vaccinations today and wasn't at all happy about it, poor thing. She screamed bloody murder. Thankfully she was tired and went to sleep shortly after...so far she seems fine. Not fussy or anything. Our Pedi was really pleased with her though----he said she is in the 75-90th percentile for length and weight. She is 23 1/2 inches long, 12 lbs 2 oz now!! She is growing so fast. She still has a clogged tear duct but we are hoping that will clear up on its own.

She is still not sleeping good at night--sometimes only sleeping for 2 hours at a time, which by the time I fall asleep only gives me about an hour and a half at a time! Last night she actually slept for 5 hours in a row which seemed like a miracle. Im hoping it will happen again tonight. Ive just bought 'Happiest Baby On The Block' (thanks for the tip Melissa!) and Im hoping it will give us some sleeping help. I don't really believe in letting her cry it out, so that isn't an option. Seeing as I go back to work in a few days Ive got to start getting some sleep!! She just wants to be held all the time, even when she is sleeping. As soon as I put her down she wakes up, the silly thing!

Other than that, she is a huge joy. She smiles every day now, and is trying to laugh. She isn't sure how to laugh yet so it sometimes sounds like a yelp, it is so funny! She normally stays happy though and loves to look at peoples faces. She did have her first "injury" this week----she scratched her nose really badly with her fingernail. It bled all over my shirt and she screamed for ages. Of course she had no idea she did it herself. Anyway, we really adore her! She is a real sweetheart!
